What Does SHECP Do?

The Shepherd Higher Education Consortium enables and supports collaboration among its member institutions for the purpose of advancing sustained curricular and co-curricular education focused on poverty and human capability in order to prepare students for a lifetime of professional and civic efforts to diminish poverty and enhance human capability.

Why Does SHECP Need Resources?

The Consortium supports conferences and programs as well as summer internships for students. The student interns collaborate with communities and individuals through agencies working with impoverished communities. SHECP and its member institutions meet all of the costs for these internships as well as for courses to prepare graduates for a lifetime of informed service to society. Your financial support can help sustain this combination of service to community agencies and education for a lifetime of initiatives to diminish poverty.

The Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty (SHECP) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You will receive a confirmation letter for your tax deduction purposes. Questions? Call (540) 458-8164
