Harlan Beckley, executive director of the Shepherd Higher Education on Poverty, will speak at the Chautauqua Institution “Interfaith Lecture Series” at the Hall of Philosophy on July 2.  Beckley will talk about the Consortium and poverty studies in higher education.  His lecture, entitled “Rethinking Poverty and Inequality: Changing Higher Education” will highlight the promise of ethics-based and social science informed courses and community engagement to engender lifetimes of professional and civic initiatives to diminish poverty.  See http://www.ciweb.org/religion-interfaith-lectures/eventdetail/546/-/special-lecture-harlan-beckley for more information.
